Make A Chart Day V

It is Friday! It is springtime! IT IS MAKE A CHART DAY!

Since Bud Caddell kickstarted this great tradition, the responsibility has passed through the hands of Clay, Rachel, and Johanna and today I have the honor of being your humble host.

If you are not familiar with this weekly occurance it is quite simple and quite fun. Here’s how to participate:

 • - Make a chart (about anything and/or everything)
 • - Tweet your chart the host (this week: @marisazupan) with the hashtag #makeachartday
 • - Or you can email them here
 • - I’ll collect all entries and post them below

So without further fanfare, let the submissions begin!

_______________________________________________________

First up is Mr. @tabone’s commentary on the State of Our Interwebs

@ryeclifton pre-emptively tweeted this, shall we say, buxom entry yesterday:

Bud’s effing sparkly chart about the rising number of entries to #makeachartday:

In proper Clay tradition, this chart helps confused males make good decisions:

@brandexpression charts the miracle of life:

“MY SISTER’S HAVING A BABY VENN DIAGRAM”

The first polarizing chart of the week via @kylecameron:

@LenKendall’s crafty (first) chart of the day :)

@iansohn’s take on charts (inspired by #makeachartday I’m assuming :)

From @nadstina; could not agree with this one more

Positive correlation at first site ? (via @MatthewElijah)

In honor of the fallen ipad “killers”, via @jsamps

Oooh, a steamy entry from @pragerd

A very clever entry that’s in honor of my new favorite Beatle by Johanna :)

A day in the life of @clpreg

An amazing work of geometric humor by @chucky987

@JohnKochmanski has supplied the chart we can all bond over:

@lorionline’s Passionate Networks of KSV NYCers:

I feel like we should also map “the pickle” according to this chart :) (thnx to @tylertravitz)

Well, well well isn’t that handy? (via @jumboiowan)

In response to @iansohn’s chart (above) by @richmackey

Brilliant, this should be a an ad for USB’S R US (another one from @brandexpression)

From @paul_mar, this is a word cloud of SUPERHERO RELIGIOUS AFFILIATIONS (apparently Jesus is their greatest role model…)

In honor of Johanna’s first viewing, @lilmissjen’s tribute to Star Wars IV FTW :)

Truth! (via @southernplanner)

Looks like someone needs a ticket to the MHC ;) (via Mark Lewis)

#MAKEACHARTDAY FIRST:

Last week was the first video submission and this week we have our first building chart…and how clever it is. Below is just the first slide but click here or (on the pic) to see the whole thing on slideshare :) (Big shout out to Dan Weingrod for this one)

My own personal snack-time inspired submission for the week:

@brandexpression is a machine today! His third entry, as good as the first:

This one is for all the current or former office admins out there… :) (via @djc1805)

Major points to @chavoen for the extreme truthiness of this chart:

An epic narrative version of @jsamps’s ‘ipad killers’ chart (above) by @uelsimon

The Peaks and Troughs of Happiness in NYC by @ishquez. I’d think we’re on an upswing today, no? :)

@agbegin charts some eeeevil…(plus, see the animated version here):

True to form chart from @scheinerinc:

A tale of two bands by @mikearauz

Some entrepreneurial spirit from @Jamesdotkelly

Heh. More truthiness from @mirandakendrick. (Although there might have to be an alternate version for Fridays to accommodate for obscene amount of chart making…)

6 charts for the price of one thanks to Bud’s second submission:

<gushy rant>
Most people who have spoken to me for longer than 5 minutes already know this, but now the cat is officially out of the bag, (so to speak):
I have a new little lady in my life and her name is Penny, (after this opus and this muse, of course). She’s bright, talkative, a bit particular (adorably so), cuddly, adoring…she’s perfect.
I inherited her from my dear friend Nadia whom I will always be indebted to for trusting me with this lovely kitteh who is now bringing so much awesomeness into my life.
Since becoming the guardian of another little creature I’m actually shocked at how much I’ve learned and loved so far. It’s been about a month now, and I honestly cannot imagine life without her and I’m already anticipating many epic journeys together in our Brooklyn cottage and beyond.

After finding this infographic, I actually have the urge to go to this restaurant. Infographics tend to have that effect on me these days.

I’m really digging all of Matthew Billingon’s portfolio. Cheerily macabre if that’s even possible.

There is something about this that instantly resonated with me, like I just ran into an old friend.
You can see more of Diana’s work on her site, which is itself quite the cozy destination.
