This delightful little peek into Warhol’s process is a wonderful reminder of what it means to use technology as medium - not as a tool to pump out a pre-concieved message. Warhol’s genious, and the impact it had on media and art, came from recognizing the intrinsics of techonology as one would paint or graphite or even film and harnessing it’s unique behaviors and tendencies. Notice Debbie Harry even says “Are you ready to paint me?” I realize I spend pretty much every waking moment trying to control “the machine” to produce and create…but deferring to it, learning it - that’s where the real potential for creativeness lies.
