Cowboy Blues
It’s certainly no secret: I have a rather romantic fixation on farmers, cowboys, gardeners, dust kickers, lone rangers and everyone of that dirty, earthy genre. Which serves - surprise, surprise! - as the inspiration for this Sunday mix.
It should be noted too that, beyond that normal infatuation, a good deal of my daydream time this week has been influenced by reading Michael Pollan’s grand opus The Omnivores Dilemma.  Sure, its about modern food systems, but it’s really just about grass, sunlight, happy hogs (and cows and chickens), changing seasons, dirt digging and hearty eating.  In essence: the way to live.
So this is my humble ode to that rugged pastoral ideal…romantic enough to charm and just hard enough to rock. I’ve enjoyed it with beer and apples all week long, I suggest you do the same.
