I stumbled upon this incredible talk by Aimee Mullins, a record breaking Paralympian, model, actor and Women’s activist, (I know, makes you feel like a shlump doesn’t it?). Since I come from an academic family of teachers her words on how to meet adversity, seek out diversity and foster alternative ideas of “normal” really struck me. Prepare the kleenex box - you might get a little weepy.
