I live in a life of curiosity in Brooklyn and churn out digital ideas at Undercurrent.

Tagged internet:

(Zee Avi, Honey Bee, Bitter Heart and others…)

I was listening to Studio 360 on this sunny Saturday and happened to catch an interview with Zee Avi, a Malaysian singer/songwriter/ukuleleist.  She got her start through gathering an impressive YouTube following and, like many others these days, that’s actually a great testament to her appeal and actual talent.

After hearing the above series of songs I was instantly in love, downloaded her album immediately and have been listening all day. She reminds me of the classic and gone-too-soon folk singer Israel Kamakawiwo’ole. It’s rare to hear something that is simple, kind and utterly impressive.

She is also impossibly adorable:

I very much encourage you listen more on her siteyoutube, and buy the album ($8.00!) on itunes…completely worth it.

The FreedomLab has collaborated with Don Tappscott and published this wonderful piece in the ‘Penny for your thoughts’ series. Besides being brilliantly articulated, the simple visuals bring the message home - essentially we are at a point of no return.

Full of sound (and visual) bites here are some of the more resonating quotes:

“Arguably our instituions have reached the end of thier life cycle”

“When you get something like this, a paradigm shift, you get a crisis of leadership”

“Growing up digital, being bathed in bits, is shaping this generation of digital natives”

Surgeons and residents twittered throughout a recent operation to remove a brain tumor from a 47-year-old man who has seizures.

” ‘A portion of the skull is being removed to allow access to the dura, the lining of the brain,” an early tweet said.’ “
